Dowagiac Police looking for hit-and-run driver

DOWAGIAC, Mich. – Police in Dowagiac are looking for the driver who took off after hitting at pedestrian on M-51 late Tuesday night.

According to officers, four pedestrians were walking along M-51 facing oncoming traffic near Lyle Street when a vehicle struck one of the pedestrians.

The victim, a 20-year-old male from Dowagiac, was taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect vehicle was a dark-colored, mid-sized sedan driving north.
