While we have been hot and dry today, Michigan's Upper Peninsula has been enduring devastating flooding.
Heavy storms moved into the U.P. shortly after midnight last night, and by the mid-morning, four to eight inches of rain had fallen throughout the area. Houghton and Hancock counties were impacted the most.
Law enforcement reported historic flood damage from the flash flooding, including roads washed out and dozens of sink holes. Many roads are impassable and will be for an extended period of time. More rain is moving into the area Sunday night and Monday, which will not help the situation.
