BRIDGMAN, Mich. -- The 4th annual Kelly Cares Golf Invitational was held Monday at the Lost Dunes Golf Club in Bridgman.
Notre Dame Head Football Coach Brian Kelly along with wife Paqui Kelly, other Notre Dame football greats and even ABC 57 Saturday Kickoff anchor Allison Hayes hit the links for a round of golf followed by a silent auction all for a great cause.
A portion of the proceeds support the Lou Holtz Foundation and the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation.
"We took this over from Coach Parseghian and Coach Holtz and that was really important. The Irish Eyes Golf Tournament is how we got started in a way. It's great to see we have a number of Lou's guys here and Ara's and what we've been able to build," Coach Kelly said.
The Kelly Cares Foundation is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
"We are giving away 10,000 books this year and looking to give away 10 scholarships for teachers to use. And celebrate that way, here's a chance for us to give to those who are doing positive in our community," Paqui Kelly said.
Known as a Playbook for Hope since its inception, the foundation has donated more than $4.2 million to support many local, national and global causes.
