24th Luminary Festival kicks off Nov. 16 in St. Joseph

ST.JOSEPH, Mich. – Hundreds of lights will illuminate the streets of Victorian-era in downtown St. Joseph on Nov. 16.

From dusk to 9 p.m. on Nov. 16 the 24th annual Luminary Festival will offer special prizes, gift ideas, offers and refreshments sponsored by the Boulevard Inn and Bistro.

Executive Director Amy Zapal said, “All ages are invited to head downtown for this festive event. Whether looking to enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate, grab a sweet treat, or get a jump start on your holiday gift shopping it’s a great way to kick off the holiday season.”

A variety of local shops and restaurants will be offering specials. Wanderlust Outfitters will feature a preview of their Black Friday sales. Mulled wine can be sampled at White Pine Winery. Third Coast Surf Shop will host North Pier Brewing and North Shore Inn. Revive Spa will be host to Sister Lakes Brewing, Full Circle Café and watercolor artist Dori Beth Josimovich.

The Luminary Festival is the kick off to the start of holiday shopping and businesses downtown will gift wrap your presents for free throughout the holiday season.

Zapal stressed the importance of shopping locally saying, “Shopping locally is a great way to get unique and special gifts for everyone on your list while supporting our local businesses and community. Everyone is encouraged to join us on Saturday, Nov. 24 for Small Business Saturday for additional specials.”
